Hospitality/Recognition - The teacher appreciation chair shall be responsible for organizing events that show appreciation to teachers and staff as agreed upon by the executive board. The chair shall organize a committee and facilitate the events for Teacher and staff appreciation Week. The chair will be providing light refreshments at all PTA meetings, as well as meals for the staff during fall and spring conferences. - Chair: Sabrina Wood

Membership - This position is yearlong and is responsible for working with PTA National to obtain membership cards. This is a yearlong position with most of the time commitment during the first few months of school. Membership chair is responsible for entering membership applications into a spreadsheet, assigning a membership number, and disbursement of membership cards. This person also assists with promotion of PTA to parents, the community, local businesses and is responsible for the PTA bulletin board promoting our members and upcoming events. This is a board of director position, you are required to attend a monthly board meeting. - Chair: Leslie Goessens

Nelson Nights - The Family Fun Night Chair plans and implements a community-building event for Nelson families at the start of the school year. The job includes recruiting a committee of volunteers who are responsible for organizing and working on the event. Primary functions include selecting a menu, food provider or caterer, entertainment, promoting the event and selling tickets. The chair orders food, and drinks based on ticket sales and arranges for entertainment, student games, food servers, and clean up. This event is not a fundraiser and it usually targeted to be a break-even event. Examples of past Nelson Nights (Movie Night, Carnival, Skate Night, Craft Night, Parents Night Out, RAM Night, and Mc Teacher Night) This is a board of directors positon you are required to attend a monthly board meeting.

Newsletter comes out as often as the PTA needs to get information out. This year we currently have put out an edition every month. Each edition has had a student section where students do a task (puzzle, color, write, etc) and once turned in, go into a drawing to win a prize!

Reflections -The Reflections Program is a National PTA and WSPTA cultural arts competition. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works. Duties and Responsibilities
The treasurer is elected by the members to be the authorized custodian to manage the funds of the PTA on behalf of the membership and the board of directors. The funds, as well as the books and record keeping materials, are the property of the PTA. The treasurer shall serve as an active participant on the board of directors and executive committee and attend all meetings of each body. The treasurer should serve as chair of the budget committee and present the budget to the board and membership. The treasurer should read and understand all references to finances and membership service fees that can be found in PTA and the Law, the WSPTA Uniform Bylaws, the PTA’s standing rules, and state PTA materials. Watch D.O.G.S - (Dads of Great Students) is the father involvement program that organizes fathers and father figures (grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures) in order to provide positive male role models for the students and to enhance school security. They serve at least one day a year in a variety of school activities as assigned by the school office. The coordinator is responsible for finding dads to help each day throughout the school year and updates the Watch DOG calendar as needed. This person maintains the calendar, recruits dads, reminds each dad to complete a valid Bethel background check, and orders the renewal kit each year. To recruit and promote the program, a back to school pizza party is given for the dads and students. Must order pizza; get drinks and other supplies for this event. They plan a fundraiser to raise money for recruiting events. - Chair: Raul Talingo
